About Evans, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Evans is a census-designated place Columbia County, Georgia. It is located not far outside of Augusta and is a lovely and quaint historic suburb where many families have settled over the years. It is a great place to raise kids. With the seasonal weather, they’ll be outside with friends swimming in the summer, then out in a sweater in the winter exploring the local nature and wildlife. The average temperature is always around 60 degrees, year-round. So, there is never a time of year when you shouldn’t be able to enjoy the outdoors.
Evans is the de facto county seat of Columbia County, although the nearby community of Appling still technically holds that designation. They have many of the government buildings for the county located in town. The original courthouse, in Appling, is the oldest in the state. Should you be interested in a tour, they are open from 9 – 4. Admission is free and they offer self-guided tours. A quick drive to Appling on a cooler day would be an amazing opportunity for some family time and learning about local history. Appling is also home to the oldest Baptist church in Georgia, so you may want to check that out, as well, while you are in town.
Nestled along the banks of the Savannah River, you will find the amazing city of Augusta. It is most definitely worth a day trip from Evans to check out what it has offer. From the vistas and atmosphere along the river to the unbelievable architecture, it is a very special and magical place. Riverwalk Augusta offers pedestrian access to the river so that you can walk along the side of the stunning river and enjoy the amazing Georgia weather. Once you have spent time by the river, walk the tree-lined streets and take a look at the unbelievably regal antebellum mansions that are all over the city.
